CSTL is an internationally accredited laboratory by International Seed testing Association. Lab was first accredited in 2019 and its accreditation status has now been extended till 2025.
Accreditation Scope
Tests: Seed sampling, Seed Purity, Other Seed Determination, Thousand Seed Weight
Crop Groups: Cereals, Grasses, Small legumes, Pulses, Other agricultural crops, Vegetables, spices, herbs, and medicinal species.
Future Endeavors: Moisture determination, Tetrazolium test, vigor test.

National Scheme
- Testing of Samples from National Seed Certification System.
- Testing of Seed Import Samples.
- Post-check evaluation of seed samples of field laboratories.
- Inter-Lab Comparison (ILC) testing to monitor the testing efficiency across the field labs.
ISTA Scheme
- Proficiency Test – being accredited member of ISTA, CSTL participate in the PT tests.
- Issuance of ISTA certificates: Orange International Certificate (OIC) & Blue International Certificate (BIC)

- Trainings of officers of FSC&RD from field labs.
- Trainings of researchers / seed technologists / breeders from national seed system.
