MR. AFAQ AHMAD APPOINTED AS THE NINETEENTH DIRECTOR GENERAL OF FSC&RD

Mr Afaq Ahmad is the nineteenth Director General of FSC&RD. He has more than 30 years of expertise in the field of seed certification, registration, seed production systems and quality control. He has done M.sc in the field of (Botany) and LLB. As a seed professional he worked in FSC&RD on key posts in many field stations throughout the country as regional director, director registration and certification in field stations including Rahim Yar Khan (Punjab), Haiderabad (Sindh), Quetta (Balochistan) and served as Director Seed Testing (Islamabad).

Mr. Afaq has  sound knowledge on his subject and has been a resource person for various local and international trainings related to seed and agriculture. Mr Afaq also worked on various collaborative projects and got several international trainings from world distinguished institutes working on agriculture including Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), International Centre for Agriculture Research in Dry Areas, (ICARDA), International Maize and Wheat Improvement Centre (CYMMYT) and Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD). 

He is married and is proud father of three sons and two daughters.
